This is especially true for plants that are considered to have high agricultural and horticultural value. Some of the most desirable plants for cloning are those that have high crop yields, high resistance to disease, have excellent aesthetic value and very rare. Some of the highly priced plants are very rare and do not easily reproduce. Oftentimes, the most cost-effective and efficient way to reproduce these plants is through cloning. Using hydroponic systems are typically the best cultivation method for reproducing cloned plants.
Using hydroponic systems is the ideal way of cultivating plants indoor. Hydroponic systems allow for the precise amount of nutrients, light, hormones and water that is needed by cloned plants. Some varieties of plants require very meticulous care in order for them to develop. Another main advantage of hydroponic systems is that they can be set up in such a way that the growth media can be made sterile, preventing plant infections. The stages of growth and development can easily be controlled and monitored by using hydroponic systems. A hydroponic system is also cost-effective in terms of re-circulating water and preventing nutrients from being wasted.
